Dr. Caroline Cheek-Hill, a board-certified orthodontist, completed her residency in orthodontics from the world-renowned orthodontic program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Cheek-Hill and her team pride themselves on taking the time to get to know each one of their patients and work hard to make orthodontic treatment fun and exciting!
Education
Dr. Cheek-Hill is a North Carolina native, and completed her decade of education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was awarded the prestigious Morehead Scholarship to attend UNC-Chapel Hill as an undergraduate. During her college summers, the Morehead scholarship allowed Dr. Cheek-Hill to work in exciting fields such as sports marketing and community development. Dr. Cheek-Hill earned her undergraduate degree from Carolina in only three years. She then spent a year performing mission work in Nepal and India, and had the opportunity to work briefly with Mother Theresa in Calcutta.
Dr. Cheek-Hill returned to the University of North Carolina and accepted a full scholarship from the NC Board of Governors to attend dental school. After graduating with the highest honors from the UNC School of Dentistry, Dr. Cheek-Hill won the Brooks Fellowship to complete a three-year orthodontic residency. During her residency, Dr. Cheek-Hill conducted a groundbreaking research study with Dr. William Proffit, the author of the world’s primary textbook on orthodontics and former chairman of the UNC orthodontic program.
Ouside of the Office
When not at work, Dr. Cheek-Hill stays active with her family and in the community. She enjoys teaching Sunday School at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in downtown Raleigh. She loves to travel with her family, learning about and seeing different parts of the United States. She is also an avid skier and adores both water skiing and snow skiing. She was even on the UNC-Chapel Hill water ski team when in college.
Her passion for teeth and health has moved her to serve as an advisor on a number of dental boards including the distinguished NC Dental Foundation at UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Cheek-Hill has published several research papers in leading dental journals and maintains numerous professional memberships to stay abreast of advances in the orthodontic field. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, The American Dental Association, The NC Dental Society, The Wake County Dental Society and she is board certified by The American Board of Orthodontists. Dr. Cheek-Hill is committed to providing exceptional orthodontic treatment with personalized care for every patient.
Dr. Cheek-Hill is married to Martin Hill, a Realtor and builder in Raleigh. They have two sons, Jackson and Preston, and a daughter, Campbell.
